Den: art is undefined, and you know it. so it is up to the perception of the general public of what it good and what is not, and it is also up to them to say what is right and what is wrong. and because of this, and because people have the natural urge to comply to what society depicts, then we all have a general understanding of what should and shouldn't be. unfortunately, it is still subjective.

Den: it's just what reality is. and honestly, i find it hard to look at brutality in its own form as art. but i guess i could when presented differently, like a painting. seeing it is just... inexplicably terrifying. besides, i believe in the individualistic depiction of many ideologies. what can be done if we didn't shy away from the conventional?

Den: who are we to say whether we've progressed or not? unless we're the next aristotle, we're mere observers who simply imply that there has been no progress. but i do agree with your brod. they've got it down, and no one's done any better since.
Joseph: why? has poverty been eliminated? why is there still injustice and cruelty today the same way they did millennia ago
Den: but that goes the same with cruelty! and you said it yourself. if there was no cruelty, how would people feel their humanity? if there were no poverty, then how would people know the essence of having abundance and wealth?
Joseph: it makes the world a really sad place, no?
Den: but with that, we realise what a great place it is to be.
Joseph: hooray for optimists
